Canadiens sign forward Glumac

The Montreal Canadiens, parent club of the AHL’s Hamilton Bulldogs, today announced the signing of free agent right-winger Mike Glumac to a one-year, two-way contract for the 2008-09 season

Glumac, 28, registered 49 points (21-28-49) and 99 penalty minutes in 75 games with the AHL’s Peoria Rivermen last season, ranking sixth on the team in scoring. The 6-2, 201-pound forward went scoreless with five penalty minutes in four games with the NHL’s St. Louis Blues.

Glumac (right) has notched 244 points (113-131-244) and 379 penalty minutes in 323 career regular-season AHL games with Cleveland, Worcester, and Peoria.

In 40 career regular-season NHL contests, all with the St. Louis Blues (2005-2008), the Niagara Falls, Ont., native has posted 13 points (7-6-13) and 38 penalty minutes.
