Canucks ink Joel Perrault

The Vancouver Canucks, parent club of the AHL’s Manitoba Moose, announced today they have signed forward Joel Perrault.

Perrault, 27, played in 47 games last season with the San Antonio Rampage of the AHL where he scored 36 points (17g, 19a) and collected 38 penalty minutes. The Montreal native also appeared in a pair of games in 2009-10 with the Phoenix Coyotes where he scored a goal on March 2 vs. St. Louis.

In 297 career games in the AHL with San Antonio, Peoria, Portland, and Cincinnati, Perrault has scored 215 points (95g, 120a) and 237 penalty minutes. His best season in the AHL came in 2008-09 when he scored 49 points (18g, 31a) in 46 games as a member of the Rampage.

He has also appeared in 89 career games in the NHL with Phoenix and St. Louis where he’s collected 26 points (12g, 14a) and 68 penalty minutes.

He was originally drafted by Anaheim in 2001.
