Devils sign defenseman Morrow

The New Jersey Devils have signed defenseman Joe Morrow to a one-year, two-way contract.

Morrow was placed on waivers Sunday, with the intention of sending him to Binghamton if he clears waivers at noon ET on Monday.

Morrow, 26, enters his eighth pro season in 2019-20 after skating in 41 NHL games with the Winnipeg Jets last year, collecting one goal and six assists.

In 162 career NHL games with Winnipeg, Montreal and Boston, Morrow has totaled nine goals and 23 assists for 32 points.

Morrow has skated in 158 games in the AHL with Providence, Texas and Wilkes-Barre/Scranton, where he has notched 15 goals and 46 assists for 61 points.

A native of Edmonton, Alta., Morrow was a first-round choice (23rd overall) by Pittsburgh in the 2011 NHL Draft.
