Eaton’s Ephesus to recognize best of the AHL

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. ... The American Hockey League (AHL) and power management company Eaton today announced a wide-ranging sponsorship program in which the company’s Ephesus Sports Lighting brand has been named the Official Lighting Partner of the AHL.

In addition to the ability to offer teams its innovative LED lighting solutions for their arenas, the company will work with the AHL to recognize the league’s top plays, its former stars and support community hockey in all 31 AHL markets. The announcement was made by Mike Quijano, director of business development and Ephesus product marketing for Eaton and Christos Nikolis executive vice president, marketing and business development for the AHL.

The program consists of three primary elements: the Ephesus/AHL Play of the Year; the Ephesus/AHL Graduate of the Month and the Ephesus/AHL Community Stick Donation Program. Each program is intended to enhance the enjoyment of the AHL for fans and promote the league in their communities.

The Ephesus/AHL Play of the Year program will recognize the many great plays in the AHL on the ice this season. Each week, on the league’s website TheAHL.com and social media platforms, fans can enjoy video of the week’s top plays recognized as Ephesus/AHL Plays of the Week. At the end of the season, the league will select the Ephesus/AHL Play of the Year from the best plays recognized during the season.

To salute the more than 600 former AHL players that are currently on NHL rosters such as Taylor Hall, Pekka Rinne and Nikita Kucherov, the AHL will recognize an Ephesus/AHL Graduate of the Month on its website and social media channels from January through June.

The final component of the program, the Ephesus/AHL Community Stick Donation Program, will provide CCM hockey sticks to deserving youth hockey programs in all 31 AHL markets.

“The AHL is pleased to continue our relationship with Eaton’s Ephesus Sports Lighting,” said Mr. Nikolis. “Building on Eaton’s partnership in 10 AHL arenas, these programs will add to our fans’ enjoyment of AHL hockey.”

“Our Ephesus sports lighting solutions enhance the game experience for fans across North America at AHL venues, so it’s fitting for us to further improve the enjoyment of the game for so many fans by presenting these fun and beneficial marketing programs,” said Mr. Quijano.

Ten of the league’s 31 arenas now use one of Eaton’s Ephesus LED lighting solutions including: the War Memorial Arena in Syracuse, N.Y.; the XL Center in Hartford, Conn; Webster Bank Arena in Bridgeport, Conn; the MassMutual Center in Springfield, Mass.; the Adirondack Bank Center at the Utica Memorial Auditorium in Utica, N.Y.; the Floyd L. Maines Veterans Memorial Arena in Binghamton, N.Y.; Coca-Cola Coliseum in Toronto; Van Andel Arena in Grand Rapids, Mich.; the BMO Harris Bank Center in Rockford, Ill.; and the Budweiser Events Center in Loveland, Colo.
