Flyers recall three from Phantoms

The Philadelphia Flyers on Wednesday announced that the team has recalled defenseman Alexandre Picard and forwards Ben Eager and Stefan Ruzicka from the AHL’s Philadelphia Phantoms.

All three are expected to join the Flyers in time for their game at Tampa Bay on Thursday night.

In four games with the Phantoms this season, Ruzicka has five goals and four assists for nine points, good for a share of the AHL scoring lead. The 21-year-old forward played one NHL game with the Flyers last season.

Picard, 21, has one goal and one assist in four games for the Phantoms. He skated in six NHL games for Philadelphia in 2005-06.

Eager is scoreless with 21 penalty minutes in three games with the Phantoms. The 2002 first-round draft pick had three goals and five assists in 25 games with the Flyers a season ago.

Flyers assistant general manager Paul Holmgren also told philadelphiaflyers.com that Petr Nedved, Niko Dimitrakos and Nolan Baumgartner have been placed on waivers to make room for the trio of Phantoms, and that Nedved and Dimitrakos would be assigned to the AHL club if they clear.
