Hamhuis leads Milwaukee to win

Dan Hamhuis scored his second goal of the night with 3:25 left in regulation to lift Milwaukee to a 4-3 win in St. John’s on Tuesday.

Hamhuis, who will represent the Admirals at next week’s 2005 Dodge AHL All-Star Classic, is now tied for the league lead among defensemen with 10 goals on the season.

Milwaukee did not lead in the game until Hamhuis netted the eventual winner, but did erase three separate one-goal deficits.

Darren Haydar had two goals and an assist for the Admirals and Simon Gamache added three assists.

Michel Robinson, in his AHL debut, made 32 saves to earn the win.

Brad Leeb scored twice and Kyle Wellwood had a goal and two assists for the Maple Leafs.

Elsewhere on Tuesday:
Defenseman Joel Kwiatkowski had two goals and an assist to lead San Antonio to a 4-3 win at Cleveland… Drew MacIntyre made 35 saves as Grand Rapids ended a four-game losing streak with a convincing 5-1 win in Manitoba… David LeNeveu stopped 38 shots for Utah, but Edmonton prevailed in a shootout, 2-1.
