Iowa downs Rampage to win fifth straight

Four different players tallied for the Stars as Iowa extended its winning streak to five games by defeating the San Antonio Rampage by a score of 4-1 at the AT&T Center on Tuesday night.

Junior Lessard and Chris Conner each scored a goal and an assist for the Stars, who defeated the Rampage for the second game in a row.

Dan Ellis stopped 20 of 21 shots to earn his fifth straight win and improve his record to 20-14-1 on the year.

With the win Iowa moves into sole possession of fourth place in the West Division with a record of 30-24-3-1 and 74 points.

Dan Hacker and Greg Rallo also scored for Iowa, while teammates Yared Hagos and Shane Endicott recorded two assists apiece in the contest.

Daniel Winnik provided the lone goal for San Antonio in the loss.


MANCHESTER 4, NORFOLK 3
Matt Moulson tallied a pair of goals as the Manchester Monarchs held off a third-period comeback to defeat the Norfolk Admirals 4-3 in front of 8,224 at the Verizon Wireless Arena.

Jason LaBarbera stopped 34 of 37 shots to earn his league-leading 32nd win of the year, while opposing netminder Corey Crawford made 29 saves in the loss to remain second with 30 victories.

Peter Harrold netted a goal and an assist and Marty Murray and Gabe Gauthier each recorded two helpers for Manchester, which has now won eight of its last nine games at home.

Pierre Parenteau had two goals and added an assist in a losing effort for Norfolk, which for the first time all season has lost three straight games.
