Knights name Allen assistant coach

Omaha Ak-Sar-Ben Knights President Doug Soetaert announced today the newest additions to the franchise’s hockey operations and administration staff.

Further announcements will be made regarding head coach, broadcasting/PR, marketing, promotions and sales positions.

Calgary Flames development system coach Scott Allen joins the Omaha Ak-Sar-Ben Knights as an assistant coach. Allen has coached in the Flames development system for six seasons with the Johnstown Chiefs (ECHL) and more recently with the AHL’s Lowell Lock Monsters. During the 2004-05 season, Allen was an assistant coach in Lowell and helped Calgary’s top prospects to a 100-point season and to the second round of the 2005 Calder Cup Playoffs.

A native of New Bedford, Mass., Allen has also served as an assistant coach and head coach with the AHL’s San Antonio Rampage.

Prior to joining the coaching fraternity, the 39-year-old Allen, played professional hockey for 10 years and was a member of two ECHL championship teams.

The Knights have also named Darryl “DJ” Amadio athletic therapist, Greg Sieg equipment manager, Teresa Ancona corporate account manager, Brock Shaw director of ticket sales and operations, Billy Pugliese account executive and Eileen Dineen controller.
