Lee returns to Binghamton, Gerber recalled

bng_200.jpgThe Ottawa Senators assigned today defenseman Brian Lee to the Binghamton Senators of the American Hockey League and recalled goaltender Martin Gerber.

Lee, on recall for a third time this season since Dec. 13, has two goals, nine assists and 14 penalty minutes over 36 games with the NHL club. In 22 AHL games this season with Binghamton, the 21-year-old has one goal, seven assists, 28 penalty minutes and a +4 rating.

Gerber, 34, has a 6-6-0 record with a 2.90 goals-against average, a .911 save percentage and one shutout in 13 games this season with Binghamton. He also has four wins, nine losses and an overtime loss in 14 games with Ottawa this season. He has posted a 2.86 GAA and .899 save percentage. He last saw action with Ottawa in a 6-4 loss to the Bruins in Boston on Jan. 8.

In 100 games with Ottawa, Gerber has 49 wins, 36 losses and eight overtime/shootout losses, a .907 save percentage and a 2.76 goals-against average. In 214 career NHL games, he has 104 wins, 73 losses, seven ties, 14 overtime/shootout losses, a .910 save percentage and 2.61 GAA.
