Milwaukee hits high note in Music City

Timofei Shishkanov scored 2:21 into overtime to give Milwaukee a 5-4 victory over Rochester on Saturday evening.

The game was played in front of 10,642 fans at the Gaylord Entertainment Center, home of the Admirals’ parent club, the Nashville Predators.

Wyatt Smith had two goals and an assist for Milwaukee, which has opened the 2004-05 season with two straight victories after winning their final seven games of last postseason. The Admirals eliminated Rochester, four games to one, in the 2004 Western Conference final.

Mike Matteucci and Vern Fiddler also scored for the Admirals, and Brian Finley stopped 29 shots.

Jason Botterill had two goals and an assist for the Americans, including the tying goal with 18 seconds left to force overtime. The Amerks have allowed 12 goals through their first two games of the season.
