Milwaukee rallies past Monsters in shootout

MILWAUKEE 3, LAKE ERIE 2 (SO)
Dave Scatchard’s second goal of the game tied the contest at 2-2 with 1:34 to play in regulation, and Milwaukee went on to post a 3-2 shootout win over red-hot Lake Erie on Tuesday at Quicken Loans Arena.

Scatchard, who also scored in the opening period, recorded his ninth and 10th goals of the season for the Admirals. His game-tying marker was assisted by Mark Matheson and Robert Dietrich.

Admirals forwards Cal O’Reilly and Mark Santorelli converted in the first two shootout rounds, and goaltender Mark Dekanich denied four of Lake Erie’s five attempts, surrendering only a goal to T.J. Hensick in the third round.

Dekanich finished with 21 saves in the first 65 minutes for the Admirals, who snapped a three-game winless skid (0-2-0-1).

The Monsters, entered the contest 8-1-0-0 in their last nine outings, received regulation markers from Cedric McNicoll and Tom Preissing. Lake Erie goaltender Tyler Weiman took the shootout loss after making 35 saves through regulation and overtime.
