Moose edge IceHogs in overtime, 3-2

Brad Moran scored at 3:45 of overtime to propel Manitoba to a 3-2 victory over host Rockford on Thursday at the MetroCentre. Moran, who leads the Moose with 35 points, tallied his 12th goal of the season and fourth game-winner.

Manitoba improved to 2-0-0-0 at the halfway point of a four-game road swing, all against West Division opponents.

The Moose jumped out to a 2-0 first-period lead on goals by Mike Brown and Alexandre Bolduc, who has now scored in consecutive games.

Rockford climbed back to even on a pair of power play markers. Troy Brouwer tallied his team-leading 23rd goal of the season in the second period, and Colin Fraser tied it at 2:35 of the third.

Moran’s overtime winner was assisted by defenseman Maxime Fortunus.

2008 AHL All-Star goaltender Drew MacIntyre picked up the win for Manitoba, making 29 saves on 31 shots.

MacIntyre upped his record to 18-12-1 for the season, including 4-1-0 in his last five outings.
