The Utica Comets host Game 3 of their North Division semifinal series tonight facing an uphill climb, down 0-2 in the best-of-five series after a pair of weekend losses in Albany… Eleven different Devils skaters have at least one point so far in the series, led by Reid Boucher (2-2-4) and Jim O’Brien (2-2-4)… O’Brien, who scored twice in Albany’s 5-1 win in Game 2 on Saturday, now has 9-6-15 in 10 games against the Comets this season… Scott Wedgewood (2-0, 1.50, .919) made 22 saves in Game 2 and has faced just 37 shots combined over the first two games of the series… Cole Cassels (1-0-1), who scored two goals in 67 games during the regular season, had the Comets’ lone tally of Game 2… The Devils are 3-for-8 on the power play in the series; they were 3-for-34 in eight regular-season meetings with Utica… Albany is now 14-0-2-0 all-time against Utica, including 8-0-2-0 this season… Tonight’s game will be the 54th consecutivie sellout at the Utica Memorial Auditorium, including all 14 of the franchise’s postseason contests.

Milwaukee went 15-4-0-2 in its final 21 regular-season games while Grand Rapids lost 10 of its last 13 down the stretch, but it’s the Griffins who hold a 2-0 series lead with a chance to finish off the Central Division champions at Van Andel Arena tonight… Tyler Bertuzzi (3-0-3) has tallied three of Grand Rapids’ five goals in the series; he did not score a single goal in eight meetings with Milwaukee during the regular season… Martin Frk (1-3-4) leads all scorers with four points, Ryan Sproul (0-3-3) has three assists and Tom McCollum (2-0, 1.00, .969), who played all of 34 minutes against the Admirals in the regular season, has stopped 63 of 65 shots so far in the series… Trevor Murphy (Game 1) and Vladislav Kamenev (Game 2) have scored Milwaukee’s goals in the series… Yakov Trenin, a second-round draft pick by Nashville in 2015, made his pro debut for the Admirals in Game 2 on Saturday night… Juuse Saros (0-2, 2.57, .891) started Games 1 and 2 after he and Marek Mazanec each started 38 of the Admirals’ 76 regular-season contests… Milwaukee has lost 12 of its last 13 playoff games overall and six straight postseason games on the road.

In Stanley Cup Playoff action last night, Troy Brouwer — an AHL All-Star and an All-Rookie Team selection in 2006-07 — scored midway through the third period to send St. Louis to a 3-2 win over Chicago in Game 7 of their first-round series… James Neal had a goal and an assist and former Milwaukee Admirals Shea Weber and Mattias Ekholm also scored as Nashville defeated Anaheim, 3-1, to force a Game 7 in their series.
