Game 4 – 7:00 ET, AHL Live (NOR leads series, 2-1)
Norfolk scored three goals in a span of 6:09 of the second period last night and held on for a 4-3 win over Connecticut to take a 2-1 lead in their best-of-seven Eastern Conference semifinal series… Ondrej Palat‘s goal on a shorthanded breakaway still left the Admirals trailing 2-1 after one, but Alex Killorn (11:31), Trevor Smith (12:16) and Mike Angelidis (17:40) all scored late in the middle frame to send Norfolk to its 16th consecutive road win… Killorn (3-6-9) extended his scoring streak to six games with his goal, and Smith (3-6-9) made it five in a row with a point with his… Dustin Tokarski (4-1, 2.28, .914) finished with 27 saves in the victory… Casey Wellman (3-4-7) scored a pair of power-play goals for Connecticut in the loss, and Kris Newbury (0-2-2), the Whale’s co-leader in regular-season scoring with 64 points, notched two assists and ended a five-game drought with his first two points of the playoffs… Marek Hrivik (5-2-7) has a point in five straight games for the Whale… Through three games of the series, nine of the 17 goals scored have come in the first period.
Game 3 – 8:00 ET, AHL Live (Series tied, 1-1)
After splitting a pair of games in Oklahoma City, the Barons and Rampage move their series to San Antonio for the middle three contests of the best-of-seven, beginning with Game 3 tonight… These teams, who combined for 26 goals in eight low-scoring meetings during the regular season, have already scored 19 times in two games this series… The Barons evened things up with a 5-4 overtime win in Game 2 on Saturday, avoiding a disastrous 0-2 hole when Magnus Paajarvi (1-4-5) scored with 9.2 seconds left in regulation and then helped set up Josh Green (4-2-6) for the winner 11:40 into OT… Chris VandeVelde (1-0-1), Mark Arcobello (3-5-8) and Teemu Hartikainen (3-2-5) also scored for Oklahoma City in Game 2, and Tyler Pitlick (2-5-7), Dylan Yeo (1-4-5) and Bryan Rodney (0-4-4) had two assists apiece… Bill Thomas (4-3-7) scored twice for the Rampage, including a goal with 4:29 left in regulation that gave San Antonio a 4-3 lead… Mark Cullen (3-5-8) added a goal and an assist and Evan Barlow (2-2-4) netted his second goal of the postseason in the loss… Jacob Markstrom (4-1, 3.08, .901) stopped 32 shots but saw his personal seven-game winning streak come to an end… The Rampage, who ranked 28th in the league on the power play in the regular season at 14.4 percent, were 3-for-6 in Game 2 and are a league-best 12-for-31 (38.7 percent) through seven postseason games.

Former Manchester Monarchs Jordan Nolan (first career Stanley Cup Playoff goal), Dustin Brown (two goals) and Jonathan Quick (23 saves) helped the Los Angeles Kings close out a four-game sweep of St. Louis with a 3-1 victory on Sunday afternoon… Nolan, who played 40 games with the Monarchs this season, made his playoff debut in Manchester’s seven-game first-round series with Binghamton last year… Martin Brodeur celebrated his 40th birthday with 20 saves and an assist to help New Jersey to a 4-2 win over Philadelphia and a 3-1 series lead… Brodeur was 20 when he capped his first professional season by backstopping the AHL’s Utica Devils in the 1993 Calder Cup Playoffs.
By the Numbers
5 – Games won by the Norfolk Admirals this postseason, tying the franchise high for a single playoff (2003)… The Admirals are up 2-1 on Connecticut in search of their first-ever win in a best-of-seven series.
1-1 – Series score through two games of all four conference semifinal series… It’s the first time every series in the AHL’s round of eight opened 1-1 since 1986.

May 7, 2004 – Jeff Carter’s goal 15:20 into overtime gives Philadelphia a 3-2 win over Wilkes-Barre/Scranton and evens their division final series at one game apiece.
May 7, 2002 – The Chicago Wolves become the first team in AHL history to prevail in three winner-take-all games in a single postseason, advancing to the Western Conference final with a 6-2 victory at Syracuse in Game 7.
