Bulldogs get revenge on Aeros

The Hamilton Bulldogs pounded the Houston Aeros by a score of 7-1 at Copps Coliseum in Hamilton, in a rematch of the 2003 Calder Cup Finals.

Seven different players scored the goals the Bulldogs, who drove Houston starting goaltender Josh Harding out of the game with 10:55 remaining in he third period. Marc-Antoine Pouliot, Francis Lemieux, Maxim Lapierre and Corey Locke each posted a goal and an assist for the Bulldogs.

Bulldogs goaltender Yann Danis stopped 16 of 17 Aero shots in the win, his fourth of the season.

Roman Voloshenko had his team leading 17th goal of the season, scoring the lone goal for Houston.

Even with the loss, the Aeros (18-8-1-1, 38 pts.) still remain in first place in the West Division, while the Bulldogs (10-17-0-2, 22 pts.) remain in last in the North Division.

The 2003 Calder Cup was won by the Houston Aeros in an epic series which ended in a dramatic game seven at Copps Coliseum.
