Canucks acquire Mazanec from Rangers

The Vancouver Canucks have acquired goaltender Marek Mazanec from the New York Rangers in exchange for a seventh-round pick in the 2020 NHL Draft.

Mazanec, 27, has appeared in 20 games with the AHL’s Hartford Wolf Pack this season, posting a record of 7-8-4 with a 3.01 goals-against average and a .903 save percentage.

The sixth-year pro has played 205 career AHL games with Hartford and Milwaukee, going 100-74-25 with a 2.67 GAA, a .908 save percentage and 11 shutouts.

A native of Pisek, Czech Republic, Mazanec was selected by Nashville in the sixth round of the 2012 NHL Draft and has made 31 career NHL appearances with the Predators, showing a record of 8-13-4 with a 2.98 GAA, an .895 save percentage and two shutouts.
