The Charlotte Checkers became the first team to clinch a berth in the 2019 Calder Cup Playoffs on Friday night.
The Checkers secured their spot when Wilkes-Barre/Scranton dropped a 3-2 decision to Lehigh Valley.
Charlotte is heading to the postseason for the third year in a row and the fifth time in nine seasons since joining the AHL.
