The Bakersfield Condors announced today that the team has signed center Josh Currie to a two-year American Hockey League contract and right wing Zach O’Brien to a one-year AHL contract.
Currie, 24, ranked second on the Condors with 22 goals and finished with 36 points in 67 games last season, his fourth pro campaign and second year in the AHL.
A native of Charlottetown, P.E.I., Currie notched 10 goals and 14 assists in 53 games with Bakersfield as an AHL rookie in 2015-16. He has also played 154 ECHL games in his career.
O’Brien, 25, split last season between Wichita in the ECHL and EV Ravensburg in Germany’s second tier. The native of St. John’s, N.L., has 33 goals and 48 assists for 81 points in 175 career AHL games and won a Calder Cup title with Manchester in 2015.
