Coyotes ink a pair with Calder Cup Finals experience

hoggan1_200.jpgThe Phoenix Coyotes, parent club of the AHL’s San Antonio Rampage, announced today the signings of left wing Jeff Hoggan and defenseman Ryan Lannon to one-year contracts.

Hoggan, 30, appeared in 71 games for the AHL’s Providence Bruins last season and recorded 60 points (29-31-60) and 59 penalty minutes (PIM). Hoggan finished second on the P-Bruins in goals and third in points, and he also led the entire AHL in plus/minus with at plus-39.

In 282 career AHL games with Houston, Worcester and Providence, Hoggan (right) has collected 143 points (76-67-143) and 274 PIM. Hoggan has recorded 18 points (8-10-18) and 50 PIM in 38 career AHL playoff games and won the Calder Cup as a rookie with Houston in 2003.

The 6-foot-1, 188-pound native of Hope, British Columbia, has also appeared in 99 career NHL games with the St. Louis Blues and Boston Bruins, recording 10 points (2-8-10) and 67 PIM.

Lannon, 25, played 75 games with the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins (AHL) last season, recording 13 points (3-10-13) and 29 PIM. He also added seven points (1-6-7) and two PIM in 23 playoff games as the Penguins advanced to the Calder Cup Finals.

The 6-foot-2, 220-pound Lannon (left) has appeared in 217 career AHL games over three seasons with Wilkes-Barre/Scranton, collecting 42 points (5-37-42) and 165 PIM. In 45 career AHL playoff games, he has registered nine points (1-8-9) and 24 PIM.

The Grafton, Mass., native was drafted by Pittsburgh in 2002.
