Gulls sign five to AHL deals

The San Diego Gulls announced Wednesday that the club has signed right wing Matt Berry, goalie Ryan Faragher, center Antoine Laganiere and left wing Bryan Moore to one-year contracts, and center Kyle MacKinnon to a two-year contract. 

MacKinnon, 27, recorded six goals and 21 assists for 27 points in 47 games with the St. John’s IceCaps (AHL) last season. The Walnut, Calif., native has appeared in 260 career AHL games with Providence and St. John’s, collecting 46 goals and 72 assists for 118 points with a plus-25 rating. MacKinnon has also appeared in 33 postseason games in the AHL, collecting three goals and five assists. He reached the Calder Cup Finals with St. John’s in 2014.

Prior to his professional career, the 5-foot-11, 185-pound center appeared in 137 games with Providence.

Berry, 22, recorded 12 goals and 17 assists for 29 points in 29 games with Michigan State University last season. He appeared in 130 career games with Michigan State, collecting 48 goals and 48 assists.

The Canton, Mich., native joined the Norfolk Admirals (AHL) at the end of the 2014-15 season, going scoreless in five games.

Faragher, 25, made his professional debut last season and appeared in 15 AHL games with Norfolk, going 4-9-1 with a 2.57 goals-against average, a .901 save percentage and one shutout. He also played 24 games in the ECHL with Utah (10-8-3, 2.72, .908).

The Fort Frances, Ont., native played three seasons at St. Cloud State University before signing with Anaheim on April 7, 2014.

Laganiere, 25, collected 14 goals and seven assists for 21 points in 73 games with Norfolk last season. In 145 career AHL games, Laganiere has 24 goals and 15 assists for 39 points.

The native of L’Ile-Cadieux, Que., played four seasons at Yale University and signed with Anaheim on April 16, 2013.

Moore, 21, appeared in 59 games with Sault Ste. Marie (OHL) last season, recording 23 goals and 27 assists for 50 points. Over three seasons in the OHL with Sault Ste. Marie and Sarnia, Moore totaled 59 goals and 82 assists for 141 points.
