SPRINGFIELD, Mass. … The American Hockey League announced today that Manitoba Moose left wing Jason Jaffray has been named the CCM Vector/AHL Player of the Week for the period ending October 29, 2006.
Jaffray scored five goals and had two assists for seven points, along with a plus-7 rating, in three games for the Moose.
Jaffray tallied four goals on four shots while posting a plus-5 rating in Manitoba’s 7-4 win against the Wolves at Chicago’s Allstate Arena on Tuesday night. The four goals tied a Moose franchise record. He would later register three points in Manitoba’s two-game series against Eastern Conference leaders Wilkes-Barre/Scranton, tallying an assist in a 3-2 shootout loss on Thursday and adding a goal and an assist in a 4-3 defeat on Friday.
In recognition of his achievement, Jaffray will be presented with an etched crystal award prior to an upcoming Moose home game.
A native of Olds, Alta., the 25-year-old Jaffray is in his third season with Manitoba and leads the Moose with seven goals and 10 points in 10 contests this season. In 2005-06, he ranked third on the team with 47 points (12 goals, 35 assists) in 73 regular-season games and added six goals and seven points in 13 Calder Cup Playoff matches. Jaffray has a total of 33 goals and 49 assists for 82 points in 134 career AHL games.
