Joel Lundqvist tallied a pair of goals on the power play to lead the Iowa Stars to a 5-1 win over Chicago in Game 5 of the West Division Final at Wells Fargo Arena in Des Moines on Thursday night.
The Wolves still hold a 3-2 lead in the series, which returns to Chicago for Game 6 on Saturday.
Dan Ellis provided 36 saves on 37 shots on the night for Iowa, including stopping all 15 shots in the final period.
Loui Eriksson scored just eight seconds into the game to set the tone for the Stars, while Yared Hagos added a shorthanded goal late in the first period to give the Stars a 2-0 lead.
Both Eriksson and Hagos added assists on the night as well, Vojtech Polak also scored and Junior Lessard and Matt Niskanen each recorded two helpers for the Stars, who improved their record to 3-1 all-time when facing elimination.
Defenseman Trevor Byrne scored the lone goal for Chicago in the loss.
Iowa was 3-for-10 on the power play; Chicago was 0-for-10.
