Marlies-Devils to get underway Wednesday

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. … The American Hockey League today announced the schedule for the North Division Finals of the 2016 Calder Cup Playoffs

The series will pit the Toronto Marlies, top development affiliate of the Toronto Maple Leafs, against the Albany Devils, top affiliate of the New Jersey Devils. 

North Division Finals – Series “J” (best-of-7)
N1-Toronto Marlies vs. N2-Albany Devils
Game 1 – Wed., May 4 – Albany at Toronto, 7:30
Game 2 – Fri., May 6 – Albany at Toronto, 7:30
Game 3 – Sun., May 8 – Toronto at Albany, 5:00
Game 4 – Tue., May 10 – Toronto at Albany, 7:00
*Game 5 – Thu., May 12 – Toronto at Albany, 7:00
*Game 6 – Sat., May 14 – Albany at Toronto, 3:00
*Game 7 – Mon., May 16 – Albany at Toronto, 7:30

Both teams advanced to the second round with wins on Thursday night. Toronto completed a three-game sweep of Bridgeport with a 6-4 victory, and Albany defeated Utica, 6-3, in Game 4.

Nearly 90 percent of all players competing in the NHL are AHL graduates, and through the years the American Hockey League has been home to more than 100 honored members of the Hockey Hall of Fame.
