Minnesota returns Kolanos to Aeros

hou06_200.jpgMinnesota Wild President and General Manager Doug Risebrough today announced the National Hockey League (NHL) club has reassigned center Krys Kolanos to the Aeros.

Kolanos, 27 (7/27/81), has been recalled five times this season and has recorded six points (3-3=6) in 21 games with Minnesota. He ranks tied for second on the Wild with a plus-3 rating.

Kolanos has registered 46 points (26-20=46) including a team-leading 26 goals in 43 games with Houston this season. He was recalled on Nov. 3 and tallied a goal the next night at San Jose in his first NHL game since Dec. 15, 2005.

The native of Calgary, Alberta has notched 41 points (20-21=41) in 136 career NHL matches with Phoenix, Edmonton and Minnesota. Kolanos was originally selected by the Coyotes in the first round (19th overall) of the 2000 NHL Entry Draft and signed as a free agent by the Wild on July 11, 2008. Kolanos wears No. 36 with the Aeros.
