Moose come back on Knights, continue to win at home

After falling to an early 2-0 hole in the first period, the Manitoba Moose rallied with four unanswered goals to defeat the visiting Omaha Ak-Sar-Ben Knights by score of 4-2 at the MTS Centre on Monday night.

Jason Jaffray tallied a goal and an assist and defenseman Prestin Ryan had two helpers to lead the Moose to their fourth straight win.

Manitoba netminder Wade Flaherty stopped 29 of 31 shots on the night to earn his 11th win of the year and improve the Moose’s record to 4-0-1-0 on their current five-game homestand. It was Flaherty’s first game back from an injury which had sidelined him since Jan. 4.

Jesse Schultz and Lee Goren provided the other markers on the night for the Moose.

Manitoba sits at 26-16-7-4 and 63 points in the North Division, just three points behind second-place Hamilton and six back of division leading Rochester.

Kris Chucko led Omaha with a goal and an assist in a losing effort.
