Moose to pay tribute to Bourdon at home opener

The Manitoba Moose today announced that when they open their 13th regular season on Friday, October 10th at the MTS Centre against their division arch-rival, the Hamilton Bulldogs, they will also celebrate the life of teammate Luc Bourdon. Game time is 7:30 p.m. (CT).

Bourdon, who played in 41 games in his rookie pro season last year with the Moose, died tragically on May 29, near his hometown of Shippigan, N.B.

On Friday night, all members of the Moose will wear a #4 Bourdon jersey in warm-up prior to the game. Those jerseys will then be auctioned off after the game with proceeds going to charity. Before the national anthem, a special tribute video will be played celebrating the life and career of the young defenseman.

Additionally, throughout the entire 2008-09 season (except for the four home games in October when the Moose will wear pink ribbon patches on their jerseys), the Moose will a special “#4 LB” patch on their the upper left chest of their jerseys, both home and away.
