The Columbus Blue Jackets have assigned center Geoff Platt to the Syracuse Crunch, the club’s American Hockey League affiliate, it was announced on Sunday.
Platt, 21, was scoreless in one regular-season game with Columbus this year after leading the club in preseason scoring with seven points (four goals, three assists) in four games.
As a rookie pro in 2005-06, Platt notched 30 goals and 35 assists for 65 points in 68 games with the Crunch, and added five assists in 15 NHL games with the Blue Jackets.
Syracuse returns to action on Friday night when Wilkes-Barre/Scranton visits the Onondaga County War Memorial at Oncenter.
