Libor Pivko recorded a goal and two assists and Milwaukee converted four times with the man advantage en route to a 4-3 victory over Houston at the Bradley Center on Friday night.
Sheldon Brookbank scored the winning goal with 4:23 left in regulation, and Pekka Rinne made 12 of his 27 saves in the third period.
Brookbank and Darren Haydar finished with a goal and an assist apiece, and Rich Peverley also scored for Milwaukee, which had gone 2-for-41 in the season series with Houston prior to Friday’s win.
The victory moves the Admirals to within four points of the Aeros in the race for first place in the AHL’s West Division.
Peter Olvecky scored a pair for Houston, and Matt Foy and Erik Reitz each chipped in with two assists. Rookie Roman Voloshenko added his 31st goal of the season.
