Wolf Pack ink Oleksuk

The Hartford Wolf Pack announced today that the team has signed forward Travis Oleksuk.

A fourth-year pro out of the University of Minnesota-Duluth, the 6-foot, 200-pound Oleksuk has spent his first three seasons with the AHL’s Worcester Sharks. In 2014-15, the Thunder Bay, Ont., native skated in 69 games for the Sharks, notching 10 goals and 17 assists for 27 points, along with 18 penalty minutes. In four playoff games, Oleksuk had one assist and two PIM.

Oleksuk, 26, has amassed 32 goals and 48 assists for 80 points, as well as 50 PIM, in 203 career AHL games with Worcester, including a 19-goal, 40-point season in 74 games in 2013-14, numbers good for second on the club in points, goals and assists (21).

Originally signed as a free agent by the San Jose Sharks on March 30, 2012, Oleksuk spent four seasons at UMD, winning an NCAA title as a junior in 2010-11.
