Omark scores four in Barons win

Linus Omark‘s second career four-goal game sparked the Oklahoma City Barons to a 5-4 win over the San Antonio Rampage at the AT&T Center on Friday night.

Omark scored twice in the first period, once in the second and once more in the third as the Barons (4-4-0-1) built a 5-2 lead before holding on.

Matthew Ford had a goal and an assist for Oklahoma City and Philip Larsen recorded three assists.

Bobby Butler, Vincent Trocheck and Greg Rallo led the Rampage offense with a goal and an assist apiece.

Omark’s first goal came 3:53 into the game as he fired home a pass from Anton Lander, tying the score at 1-1.

A power-play goal by Omark at 16:15 gave the Barons the lead and ended San Antonio’s streak of 15 consecutive successful penalty kills on home ice to start the season.

With 2:42 left in the second period and Oklahoma City up 3-2, Omark was awarded a penalty shot and beat Dov Grumet-Morris to complete the hat trick.

Then, at 7:25 of the third, Omark became the third Barons player to score four goals in a game against the Rampage, joining Colin McDonald (Apr. 8, 2011) and Jordan Eberle (Dec. 15, 2012).

Omark finished short of his career high of five goals in one game, achieved vs. Toronto on Nov. 7, 2010. He also converted on a shootout attempt in that contest.
