Ottawa signs Balisy to one-year deal

The Ottawa Senators announced today that the club has signed forward Chase Balisy to a one-year, two-way contract.

Balisy, 26, tallied 14 goals and 21 assists for 35 points in 67 games with the Springfield Thunderbirds in 2017-18. He also earned his first career NHL recall, appearing in eight games with the Florida Panthers.

A native of Fullerton, Calif., Balisy has played 285 AHL games over four professional seasons, totaling 61 goals and 89 assists for 150 points with Springfield, Portland and St. John’s.

Balisy was originally selected by Nashville in the sixth round of the 2011 NHL Draft.
