Ouellet keeps Penguins rolling

Michel Ouellet scored twice in regulation, then went 2-for-2 in the shootout to propel Wilkes-Barre/Scranton to a 5-4 win over Springfield on Saturday night.

Ouellet, who recorded a hat trick on Friday night against Bridgeport, leads the AHL with 26 goals. He’s on pace to score 63 over the 80-game season.

Erik Christensen and Ramzi Abid added a goal and an assist each for the Penguins, and Kris Beech and Colby Armstrong recorded two assists apiece.

Each team scored twice in the first period and twice in the second, but neither could break the tie in the third period or overtime.

Ouellet converted on the Penguins’ first and sixth attempts in the shootout, and Craig Darby‘s miss in round six clinched Wilkes-Barre’s fourth victory in a row.

Nikita Alexeev scored twice for the Falcons.
