The Pittsburgh Penguins, parent club of the AHL’s Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins, acquired 2006 AHL All-Star forward Libor Pivko from the Nashville Predators in a three-team trade on Wednesday.
Pittsburgh also acquired Dominic Moore from the New York Rangers via Nashville, while the Rangers got Adam Hall from the Predators.
Nashville gets a third-round pick in the 2007 NHL Entry Draft from Pittsburgh in the deal.
Pivko, 26, played three seasons in Milwaukee, where current Penguins GM Ray Shero oversaw the hockey operations as assistant GM of the Predators. Pivko had a breakthtough season offensively in 2005-06, recording 12 goals and 58 assists for 70 points in 69 games. He played for the PlanetUSA team at the 2006 Rbk Hockey AHL All-Star Classic.
Pivko added eight points in 12 playoff games as the Admirals won the Western Conference championship.
A native of Novy Vicin, Czech Republic, Pivko tallied 28 goals and 93 assists for 121 points in 192 games for Milwaukee, and won a Calder Cup with the club in 2004.
Moore, 25, played the entire 2005-06 season in the NHL with the Rangers, recording nine goals and nine assists in 82 games. He spent the previous two years in the AHL with Hartford, totaling 33 goals and 55 assists for 88 points in 168 games for the Wolf Pack.
Hall, 25, had two brief stints in the AHL with Milwaukee before spending the last three seasons in Nashville, where he has amassed 43 goals and 42 assists for 85 points in 234 NHL games.
