Rangers trade Bourret to Coyotes

The New York Rangers, parent club of the AHL’s Hartford Wolf Pack, traded forward Alex Bourret to the Phoenix Coyotes, parent club of the AHL’s San Antonio Rampage, in exchange for the 90th overall selection in Saturday’s NHL Entry Draft.

The 21-year-old Bourret posted 33 points (9-24-33) in 54 games for Hartford last season. He also recorded four points (1-3-4) and 17 penalty minutes in five playoff games.

Bourret, drafted 16th overall by Atlanta in 2005, tied for the Wolf Pack team lead with 11 points (3-8-11) in seven games during the 2007 Calder Cup Playoffs.

The 5-foot-11, 205-pound native of Drummondville, Que., has registered 83 points (25-58-83) and 136 penalty minutes in 122 career AHL games with Hartford and the Chicago Wolves.
