SPRINGFIELD, Mass. … The American Hockey League has named Albany River Rats forward Keith Aucoin as the recipient of the CCM/AHL Milestone of the Month award for April.

On Apr. 13 vs. Binghamton, Aucoin’s third-period goal was his 99th point of the season, setting a new single-season franchise record.

Aucoin finished his first season in Albany with 27 goals and 72 assists for 99 points, tying him for second place in the AHL scoring race. It marked his third top-10 finish in the last five seasons. He also recorded one assist in eight NHL games for the Carolina Hurricanes.

Current New Jersey Devils forward John Madden was the previous record-holder, having tallied 98 points for the River Rats in 1998-99. Zach Parise, Brian Gionta, Steve Sullivan, Patrik Elias, Brendan Morrison, Sergei Brylin, Petr Sykora and Scott Pellerin are among the players who also skated in Albany on their way to the National Hockey League, but none matched Aucoin’s 99-point season either.

Aucoin, who earned recognition as a Second Team AHL All-Star in 2006-07, has led the River Rats to their first Calder Cup Playoff appearance in seven years. Aucoin has registered 126 goals and 262 assists for 388 points in 397 career AHL games.

In recognition of earning the CCM/AHL Milestone of the Month, Aucoin will be presented with an etched crystal award prior to an upcoming River Rats home game.
