The Hamilton Bulldogs announced today that the club has signed forward Zack Stortini to a one-year American Hockey League contract for the 2012-13 season.
Stortini, 27, has spent parts of six seasons in the National Hockey League with the Nashville Predators and Edmonton Oilers, registering 41 points (14 goals, 27 assists) and 725 penalty minutes in 257 regular-season games. The native of Elliot Lake, Ont., has also played in 220 regular-season games over six seasons in the AHL with the Milwaukee Admirals, Oklahoma City Barons, Springfield Falcons, Hamilton Bulldogs, Iowa Stars and Toronto Roadrunners, posting 48 points (24 goals, 24 assists), 683 penalty minutes and a plus-14 rating.
Stortini was a member of the Calder Cup-winning 2006-07 Hamilton Bulldogs, producing 15 points (nine goals, six assists) and a team-leading 195 penalty minutes in 47 regular-season games and three points (three goals) and a team-high 56 PIM in 22 postseason games.
Last season, Stortini appeared in 74 games with Milwaukee, tying his AHL career highs in goals (nine), assists (six) and points (15). The 6-foot-4, 215-pound winger was selected by Edmonton in the third round of the 2003 NHL Entry Draft.
