The American Hockey League Board of Governors has unanimously approved the Cleveland Monsters as hosts of the 2027 AHL All-Star Classic.

AHL and Chicago Blackhawks alumni Patrick Sharp and Kris Versteeg have been selected to serve as the honorary captains for the 2026 AHL All-Star Classic presented by BMO, to be held February 10-11 in Rockford, Ill.

Honored by the AHL Hall of Fame Selection Committee as the Class of 2026 are Chris Bourque, Alexandre Giroux, Jim Wiemer and Wendell Young.

The 2004-05 AHL season featured an influx of outstanding young talent, and nowhere was that more apparent than in Manchester for the All-Star Classic. Twenty years later, the memories still come back quickly to the event’s participants.
