Most hockey parents could only dream about the opportunity Chris and Trish Clarke had this week, watching two of their kids showcasing their skills on the ice at the same time in a best-on-best format.

For most players, it’s a challenge to make the AHL All-Star team. But for several, including Shakir Mukhamadullin of the host San Jose Barracuda, the bigger challenge was literally getting there.

With a boatload of memorable plays and moments, the AHL All-Star Challenge once again provided the entertainment value so many other similar events don’t.
