The Seattle Kraken have named Dan Bylsma as the first head coach of their new American Hockey League affiliate, the Coachella Valley Firebirds.

Troy Bodie’s job description is quite varied, but his mandate from the Seattle Kraken is really quite simple: Help bring the Coachella Valley Firebirds to life.

On a day the Seattle Kraken’s coming AHL affiliate near Palm Springs, California, unveiled its jerseys, the team official heading up AHL operations said Year 2 will be vastly different from this opening campaign.
