The New York Islanders have hired Evan Gold as assistant general manager of the Islanders and GM of the Isles’ American Hockey League affiliate, the Hamilton Hammers.

Jay McKee, who was hired as the first head coach of the Hamilton Hammers, oversaw Islanders development camp last month and introduced prospects to the way the team intends to play.
