The Stars are brightly shining

Dan Ellis made 34 saves to lead the Iowa Stars to their fifth straight win, a 6-3 decision over Milwaukee at the Wells Fargo Arena on Friday night.

Iowa hits the Christmas break with a 9-1-1-1 record in its last 12 games, and one point out of third place in the West Division.

Mathias Tjarnqvist, Junior Lessard and Jamie Johnson picked up a goal and an assist for the Stars. Tjarnqvist now has nine points in eight games with Iowa.

Ellis won for the seventh time in his last eight decisions. Kyle Brodziak, Marius Holtet and Vojtech Polak also scored for the Stars.

Rookie defenseman Shea Weber recorded a goal and an assist for the Admirals.
