The Vancouver Canucks acquired defenseman Luke Schenn and a seventh-round pick in the 2020 NHL Entry Draft from the Anaheim Ducks in exchange for defenseman Michael Del Zotto.

Schenn will report directly to the Canucks’ AHL affiliate, the Utica Comets.

Schenn, 29, made his AHL debut on Nov. 21 and has totaled two goals and eight assists for 10 points with a plus-8 rating in 22 games with the AHL’s San Diego Gulls this season. He has also appeared in eight NHL contests with Anaheim in 2018-19.

A first-round selection (fifth overall) by Toronto in the 2008 NHL Draft, Schenn has skated in 716 career NHL games with Toronto, Philadelphia, Los Angeles, Arizona and Anaheim, totaling 30 goals and 113 assists for 143 points.
