Penguins add Blandisi from Anaheim

The Pittsburgh Penguins have acquired center Joseph Blandisi from the Anaheim Ducks in exchange for center Derek Grant.

Blandisi, 24, has recorded eight goals and 15 assists for 23 points in 27 games with the AHL’s San Diego Gulls this season, his fourth pro campaign. He has also appeared in three NHL games with the Ducks in 2018-19.

A native of Markham, Ont., Blandisi has skated in 131 AHL games with San Diego and Albany/Binghamton, recording 33 goals and 67 assists for 100 points. He was a sixth-round pick by Colorado in the 2012 NHL Draft, and has compiled eight goals and 18 assists in 74 career NHL matches with New Jersey and Anaheim.

Grant, 28, has collected two goals and three assists in 25 NHL games with Pittsburgh this season. He added three goals and one assist in five AHL contests with Wilkes-Barre/Scranton.
