Coyotes acquire Downing from Wild

The Arizona Coyotes, parent club of the AHL’s Tucson Roadrunners, on Sunday acquired forward Grayson Downing as part of a trade that saw forwards Martin Hanzal and Ryan White dealt to the Minnesota Wild.

Downing, 24, has seven goals and 15 assists for 22 points in 47 games with the AHL’s Iowa Wild this season,

The 24-year-old Downing has registered 7-14-21 and 11 penalty minutes (PIM) in 46 games with the Iowa Wild (AHL). The 6-foot-0, 196-pound Abbotsford, B.C., native has collected 26 goals and 40 assists for 66 points in 108 career games with Iowa.

Downing is a second-year pro out of the University of New Hampshire.
