SPRINGFIELD, Mass. … Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins goaltender Tristan Jarry made American Hockey League history on Wednesday afternoon when he became just the 14th AHL goaltender in 83 seasons to be credited with scoring a goal.

With Springfield’s net empty for an extra attacker, Jarry sent a shot down the length of the ice and in for the first goal by a Penguins goaltender in team history.

Wilkes-Barre/Scranton went on to a 5-1 win over the Thunderbirds.

Jarry is the ninth AHL goaltender to be credited with a goal by actually shooting the puck into the opposition net. In addition to his goal, Jarry finished with 30 saves in the contest.
