Habs call for Henry

ham_200.jpgMontreal Canadiens General Manager Bob Gainey announced today that defenceman Alex Henry has been recalled from the Hamilton Bulldogs of the American Hockey League.

Henry, 29, has played in 47 games with the Bulldogs recording eight points (two goals, six assists) along with 70 penalty minutes. The native of Elliot Lake, Ontario spent last season with the Milwaukee Admirals posting a total of 16 points (three goals, 13 assists) along with 142 penalty minutes in 80 games.

The 6-foot-6, 230-pound defenceman has played in a total of 175 games in the NHL with the Edmonton Oilers, Washington Capitals and Minnesota Wild registering 11 points (two goals, nine assists) along with 259 penalty minutes. Henry was selected in the 3rd round, 67th overall by the Edmonton Oilers in the 1998 NHL Entry Draft.

The Hamilton Bulldogs return to action on Wednesday, February 4th, at 7:30 p.m. when they host the Syracuse Crunch at Copps Coliseum.
