IceHogs push Wolves to the brink

Rockford has its in-state rivals on the ropes after a 5-2 win over Chicago in Game 2 of the teams’ Central Division semifinal series on Sunday.

The IceHogs lead the best-of-five series, two games to none. Game 3 is at Allstate Arena in Rosemont on Thursday night.

Rockford scored three power-play goals in Game 2, improving to 5-for-12 in the series. Chris DiDomenico tallied a goal and an assist, Matthew Highmore netted the game-winning goal early in the second period and Adam Clendening and Victor Ejdsell registered two assists apiece.

Collin Delia (2-0) finished with 26 saves in the win.

Wade Megan and Zac Leslie scored for the Wolves.
