Kings deal for Sutter

The Los Angeles Kings, parent club of the AHL’s Ontario Reign, have acquired forward Brett Sutter from the Minnesota Wild, parent club of the AHL’s Iowa Wild, in exchange for forward Scott Sabourin.

Sutter, 28, has played in 57 AHL games with Iowa this year, recording four goals and 10 assists for 14 points. The son of Kings head coach Darryl Sutter, Brett has played 595 AHL games in his nine professional seasons, posting 95 goals and 149 assists for 244 points skating with Quad City, Abbotsford, Charlotte and Iowa.

The native of Viking, Alta., has skated in 60 NHL games with Minnesota, Carolina and Calgary, tallying two goals and eight assists for 10 points.

Sabourin, 23, has three goals and two assists in 28 AHL games with Ontario this season, and has totaled 20 goals and 23 assists for 43 points in 153 regular-season contests with Ontario and Manchester.
