Leier returning to Amerks for 2019-20 season

The Rochester Americans have signed forward Taylor Leier to a one-year American Hockey League contract for the 2019-20 season.

Leier, 25, scored a career-best 22 goals and added 20 assists for 42 points in 69 AHL games between Rochester and Lehigh Valley last season.

A native of Saskatoon, Sask., Leier has appeared in 261 AHL games over five pro seasons, totaling 68 goals and 91 assists for 159 points. He played in the AHL All-Star Classic in 2017, earning MVP honors in the All-Star Challenge.

Leier, a fourth-round selection by Philadelphia in the 2012 NHL Draft, has registered two goals and five assists in 55 career NHL contests, all with the Flyers.
