
SPRINGFIELD, Mass. … The American Hockey League announced today that Chicago Wolves center Jason Krog has been named the CCM Vector/AHL Player of the Week for the period ending November 5, 2006.
Krog scored three goals and added seven assists for 10 points in three games, leading the Wolves to three division wins on the road.
Krog, the AHL’s scoring leader with 25 points on the season, began the week recording an assist in a 4-2 win at Houston on Wednesday night, then came back on Friday with two more assists as Chicago defeated Omaha, 3-1. Krog capped the week by recording his second hat trick of the season and adding four assists in the Wolves’ 10-5 win in Peoria, becoming the first AHL player in nearly eight years to record seven points in a single game.
In recognition of his achievement, Krog will be presented with an etched crystal award prior to an upcoming Wolves home game.
The Fernie, B.C., native has tallied at least one point in all 12 games this season for Chicago, leading the league in assists (16) and points (25) while ranking third in goals (nine). A former All-American and Hobey Baker Award winner at the University of New Hampshire, Krog is averaging better than a point per game in his AHL career, with 71 goals and 124 assists for 195 points in 191 games, and he reached the Calder Cup Finals with Bridgeport in 2002. Krog has also skated in 175 career NHL games with Anaheim and the N.Y. Islanders, totaling 18 goals and 34 assists.
